Debbie here:
Happy fall to everyone.  Hope you are enjoying these last few “beautiful” days.  Saturday, September 25th, saw me taking an early morning ride to Springfield for the Lambda State Executive Board Meeting.  It was exhilarating to see so many women enthusiastic about their executive duties in each of their chapters.  It was a well-run, busy meeting, covering many topics and concerns.  The opening remarks were very positive and uplifting regarding the theme, ” Lead with the heart”.  We sang  “You’ve Gotta Have Heart,”  heard stories about making heart connections, and were encouraged to connect and engage with chapter members.  It made me feel energized and enthusiastic about the coming year.  I will cover some of the main points of the Executive Board meeting at our chapter meeting.  Hope to see everyone there.

Maria here!

While Debbie was being “exhilarated” at the Lambda State Executive Board Meeting in Springfield last weekend, I was at my niece’s wedding–exciting and exhilarating in its own way as well.  Debbie and I have had just enough time to touch on the highlights of the State meeting, but you’ll hear more about that on October 5th.  Hope to see another good turnout there.

In the meantime, as we prepare for our Lambda State Ambassador’s visit in December, be sure to check out the Lambda State Delta Kappa Gamma Web site.  There is a wealth of information about our society’s mission, organizational plan, and committee job descriptions, and many postings have been updated to bring them in line with the 2010 International Convention.  It’s a fact (as I’m sure Debbie will agree), the more you know about our society, the more you will want to get actively involved in its workings–and invite others to do so as well.
